On reading books: benefits and e-books

Reading books has a lot of benefits to it, it expands your vocabulary and imagination, it exercises your mind and it increases the brain’s capability to memorize things, and improves your spelling ability. If our body needs feed on rice and vegetables, our mind need to feed on the knowledge from books that we read.

In another study, reading to your child also gives parents advantages like bonding with the children because of the kind of communication you build with your kids. Reading to your child accompanied with brilliant description also enhances the imagination of your kids.

I have two types of books that I read, one is the paperbacks and the other one electronic. Both kind of books have their own pros and cons, and the advantage is that with traditional paperback books you won’t have to keep your lights open just to read, an e-book reader can contain more than one books, and the music and video playing capability give it more on the entertainment side of things. And e-books reader can also scan pdf file extensions.

Although not everyone can afford an e-book reader and I am only using my reliable Apad to store my e-books, I like the convenience it gives me. Since an Apad is a compact device, I can continue on with my reading anywhere, and bring the device with me anywhere I go.

The only downside is that when I don’t have anywhere to plug the device when it runs out on batteries.

Repost: A healthy and happy blogger

I am transferring this blog post from my other blog to here.

Sometimes, if you’d notice, you might have felt tired of blogging or trying to keep up with your blog buddies, especially with the growing interest and various subjects that you may find. I have visited sites and the webmasters would express tiredness or laziness from blogging or visiting their linkies. Some people would say that it is not their obligation to return back the favour of visiting their blogs, and unfortunately this does happen most of the time.

I still remember those times when I was thrown into all the sleepless nights because blogging consumed me so much, and would barely remember or string less together coherence whenever someone tries to talk to me because my mind is in another place somewhere. And then sleep deprived, I begin to feel upset most of the time, stressed out if I can’t find any opportunity for paid reviews, perplexed because always at the back of my mind “I need to raise money for my paypal!”

We all know that too much of anything will be bound to take its toll on us. The demands of our daily lives, especially if you’re a single parent and the sole provider, you will often feel like you’ve been run over by a big truck, or stuck in the middle of nowhere, confused and deprived of something.

Sometimes, it just takes a simple step on change, analyze your current lifestyle, and make that necessary alteration in your commitments and weigh the different options presented to you. Research, and choose the task at hand.

To some, they feel that they need a lot of motivation to make that step, and maybe they do. Most of the time, it’s not enough to just know the right thing to do, we may need someone to push us up to make that turn-around. Whatever it may be, one thing’s for sure; being a parent and a good steward of our children or family should give us the courage to choose the better option, no matter how difficult it may be.

Know that everything should be just taken in moderation.
1. Set-up a time when you need to work on a particular review.
2. Make sure that you’ve done all your chores.
3. Inform everyone at home that you just need a couple of hours of silence to give you enough time to think and write.
4. Give a date for blog walking and commenting. On an average, you might find yourself with more than 50 Link Exchanges and for sure you won’t be able to visit and take the time to read their blogs, so you need to divide them.

Recognize the fact that, you can only do as much, and blogging should be something that you enjoy doing. But this shouldn’t be what defines you or chained doing; otherwise, you won’t find anymore meaning to it. So, be honest, when you don’t have anything to blog about, post it for others to understand you more.
